Blood Orange Banana Gooseberry by Pachamama eJuice Review

I’m always eager to try new flavors, and today, we’ve got a doozy of a flavor: Blood Orange Banana Gooseberry from Pachamama! Pachamama’s slogan is “the most desirable fruits on earth blended to an eclectic assortment of e-liquids.” I’ve tried nearly all eight of the Pachamama e-liquids, and have loved every one of them. This will also be the first banana flavor that I’ve tried, and I’m extremely curious to see how that will translate in a fruit vape juice. You can check out my other vape juice reviews, most recently Peach Papaya Coconut Cream, and see how you like it! But for now, let’s check out the unboxing now.

THE UNBOXING

Pachamama is actually a subrand of Charlie’s Chalk Dust. While Charlie’s Chalk Dust focuses more on dessert vape juice, especially the White and Black subrands, Pachamama dives headfirst into three different types of fruits in each e-liquid. Each e-liquid name is also a description of that particular flavoring. For this e-juice, it has blood orange, banana, and gooseberry. Simple to remember and incredibly intriguing.

Blood Orange Banana Gooseberry comes packaged in a slim paper box that perfectly houses the 60mL bottle. The use of bright red is an obvious nod to the blood orange flavor and compliments the bottle nicely. The listed fruits are also portrayed below the name in corresponding images. The information on the box was the same as the bottle, so we'll focus on just the bottle's label.

The brand name and e-liquid name were both listed in easy to read black lettering, along with the Charlie's Chalk Dust name on either side. The bottle's size (60mL) and nicotine content (3mg) were listed in small print towards the left edge of the label. A double warning banner proclaimed that this product contains nicotine and nicotine is an addictive chemical.

The sale and age restrictions were listed on the right side of the label, along with warnings to keep the product away from children and pets. Directly below this warning was the manufacturing information and the ingredient list. A thin black ribbon badge listed the VG/PG ratio as 80/20, which is a bit unusual since most of the Pachamama's e-liquids come in a 70/30 blend.

On the right side of the label, you can view the health warnings on who shouldn't use the product, as well as cautions not to ingest or come in contact with the e-liquid. But if either should occur, you can easily contact Poison Control, as that information is listed as well. I noted that the expiration date and the batch number were stamped clearly on the bottom of the bottle.

Pachamama doesn't actually have a website, since it's a sub brand of Charlie's Chalk dust. Charlie's Chalk Dust's website does have a section with various items for purchase if you'd like to rep the brand, as well as a link to purchase e-liquids from an external website. We currently offer Blood Orange Banana Gooseberry for only $9.99, a fantastic deal for a 60mL bottle. That wraps up our Unboxing section of the e-liquid review, so let's jump straight into the Fill-Up!

THE FILL UP

We mentioned in the unboxing that Pachamama’s Blood Orange Banana Gooseberry comes in a slim 60mL bottle. The clear plastic bottle makes it easy to see how much of the ejuice remains, as well as the color and consistency. Since the label stops a few inches from the edges, I could clearly see the dark yellow e-liquid, very similar to a dark amber honey. The consistency was watery and sloshed easily within the bottle, but had a slightly thick consistency.

The bottle had a childproof cap that unscrewed easily in my experienced hands. I noted that the fill tip was thin enough to fit snugly into the fill port on my tank. A few seconds was all it took to fill up my tank and the e-liquid flowed in smoothly. The e-liquid moved about easily in my tank and I felt like it wouldn’t clog my coils or burn easily, as some thin e-liquids have a tendency to do.

I held the bottle to my nostrils and inhaled the scent as I lightly squeezed the sides of the bottle. I immediately smelled the thick and sticky scent of ripe bananas. I also detected the refreshing scent of citrus (from the blood oranges) cloying and sweet. However, it was tough to detect gooseberries, as I haven't had the pleasure of trying the actual fruit, so I assumed I’d taste more of it in the actual vape. I was delighted that the e-liquid smells fresh and fruity, and excitedly prepared to take my first hit. Without further ado, let’s check out the Taste Test now!

THE TASTE TEST

In general, I’m not fond of blood oranges because of their sharp taste. I love bananas and have them frequently for breakfast. However, I’ve never had a gooseberry (since they’re illegal for sale in the US). But I’ve been told it tastes like a sour grape, with the tartness of a lemon, so that’s what I was looking for in the flavor of the e-juice’s clouds. Pachamama’s Passionfruit Raspberry Yuzu also features a rare fruit (Yuzu is illegal in the US, but some chefs are able to obtain it for culinary purposes) in their e-liquid, one that easily became one of my favorites.

Blood Orange Banana Gooseberry eJuice from Pachamama piqued my curiosity because of the banana flavoring. Most banana flavors are in the dessert e-liquid category and are usually lost with the thick custard or cake flavor. I was a little wary of trying this particular e-liquid, but I decided to give it a try. BEST DECISION EVER!

The inhale had a very faint flavor of tartness, which I attributed to the gooseberries. The exhale was full of blood orange flavor, softened gently with the taste of ripe bananas. The entire cloud had a sharp tang to it, very similar to Passionfruit Raspberry Yuzu from Pachamama (which I reviewed back in October of 2020). I was floored with how sweet and pure it tasted, and loved the entire cloud. There was a slightly bitter aftertaste left on my tongue, much like the aftertaste of a blood orange slice, but it faded quickly.

The reinhallation of the clouds was full of banana flavor, which was absolutely delightful. I will say that the throat hit was very strong, and instantly satisfied my nicotine craving. Be careful about taking repeat hits without a break, as I felt the urge to cough and a slight tightening in my chest. But this flavor was so unique that I kept taking multiple hits just to enjoy that rich fruit flavor. I went through half the 60mL bottle before writing this review and I can honestly say it’s one of my favorite fruit vape juices from Pachamama.

I used this vape juice on a brand new coil and was impressed with the blast of flavor that washed over my taste buds. Not once did I feel like the flavor lost its potency or faded into a bland cloud. You wouldn’t think that a banana flavor has any place in a vape juice, but Pachamama did an excellent job with Blood Orange Banana Gooseberry eJuice.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Of all the Pachamama e-liquids I’ve tried, this is probably my second favorite. As you can probably tell, Passionfruit Raspberry Yuzu is still my all-time favorite, but there’s something about the deep blood orange and banana flavor that is almost hypnotic. I rate this flavor as a 9 out of 10. Since I don’t know what gooseberries taste like, I have no idea which part of the inhale or exhale contained it. But there was a tart flavor that was delightful and the entire vape juice flowed together in a single cloud. The only thing I didn’t like was the slight tightening in my chest if I took too deep of a pull. Flavor-wise? This vape juice is incredible. The banana and blood orange flavor flow so beautifully, it’s hard to put down and I had no desire to swap it out with a different flavor. Definitely grab your own bottle and see for yourself!

While ejuice reviews can be difficult since every vaper’s palate is different, I try to be as objective and unbiased as possible. Just because I adore a vape juice doesn't mean you’ll be as enamored as I was. And that’s okay! These reviews are to give you an idea of what you’ll be trying, and you’re free to see for yourself if you agree or disagree. If you’re looking for a unique vape juice flavor that’s different from the normal strawberry and mango flavors, I highly encourage you to try Pachamama’s entire lineup.
